When should a skin concern see a dermatologist?
Seek care for severe pain, infection signs, scarring, sudden changes, major distress, or a problem that persists despite a simple routine.
A careful way to test this
Keep the rest of the routine stable, follow current labels, and change one variable at a time. Stop if discomfort is persistent or severe.
What the label can tell you
Check ingredients, directions, warnings, and intended use. Formula and claims can change, so the current package is the source of truth.

Frequently asked questions
How long before a spray tan should I exfoliate?
Twelve to twenty four hours before is the working window. It leaves a smooth, even surface without the reactivity and open follicles that make solution develop patchy on freshly scrubbed skin.
Why does my spray tan go darker on elbows and ankles?
Skin is thicker there and sheds more slowly, so tanning solution builds up more. Give those areas extra exfoliation attention the day before and let the technician use barrier cream at the appointment.
Can I use my normal acid exfoliant the night before a tan?
Skip new or strong acids in the last two days. A familiar gentle product earlier in the week is fine, but stacking acid sensitivity with a scrub right before tanning invites uneven development.
When can I exfoliate again after a spray tan?
Not until you want the tan off. Exfoliation removes spray tan, so mid tan scrubbing to fix a patch usually makes the patch bigger. Moisturize instead to extend it.
